About Institute of Social Work Student Organization

The Institute of Social Work Students’ Organization (ISWOSO) stands as an independent student body formed by the students of the Institute of Social Work (ISW) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Founded with a commitment to fostering a supportive and enriching academic environment, ISWOSO serves as a platform for students to voice their concerns, advocate for their rights, and engage in activities that enhance their overall educational experience. The organization operates autonomously, yet collaboratively, with the institute, striving to create a vibrant community that encourages social and academic growth among its members.

OUR MISSION

The primary objectives of the Institute of Social Work Students’ Organization (ISWOSO) are to cultivate a vibrant and supportive community for students at the Institute of Social Work (ISW) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This involves creating an inclusive atmosphere that encourages positive interactions and contributes to the overall well-being of the student body. Additionally, ISWOSO is dedicated to advocating for student rights, ensuring a fair and just learning environment, and fostering academic freedom. By promoting intellectual growth and social responsibility, the organization aims to enhance the educational experience for all ISW students.

Furthermore, ISWOSO strives to establish strong relationships with the institute’s administration, faculty, and staff. By fostering open communication and collaboration, the organization seeks to address student concerns effectively and contribute to the continuous improvement of the academic environment. OUR OBJECTIVES

The Institute of Social Work Students’ Organization (ISWOSO) has defined clear objectives to enhance the student experience at the Institute of Social Work in Tanzania:

1. Promote and Project Student Interests: ISWOSO actively advocates for the interests of students, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs addressed. The organization serves as a platform to collectively represent and protect the rights and well-being of the student body.

2. Establish Communication Channels: To foster transparency and understanding, ISWOSO works to establish effective communication channels between students, the institute administration, and the broader community. Open dialogue is crucial in addressing concerns and building a collaborative environment.

3. Promote Academic Excellence: ISWOSO encourages students to pursue academic success by providing support for their educational endeavors. The organization plays a role in creating an environment that values and promotes excellence in academic achievement.

GOVERNANCE:
The Institute of Social Work Students’ Organization (ISWOSO) operates under a governance structure led by a democratically elected Executive Board. MEMBERSHIPS:
ISWOSO extends its membership automatically to all registered students of the Institute of Social Work.
